WILCOX, Elizabeth Marie (Weaver) – age 96 of Grand Blanc, MI passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Wynwood of Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 11AM-1:30 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Elizabeth was born August 2, 1918 in Flint, MI to the late Roy and Sylvia (Towns) Weaver. Elizabeth met Harold Wilcox in 1933. At the age of 15 they married in 1938 in Flint, MI before he entered the Air Force (1943-1945). They moved to Grand Blanc in 1946 where she has resided the last 68 years. Elizabeth and Harold were members in the Rock and Gem Club and loved doing lapidary. Therefore they traveled for many years and they collected rocks and loved sight-seeing. Elizabeth also helped Harold paint businesses, homes, and barns. She crocheted and would annually make and donate 50 hat and scarf sets for children, even in her mid-nineties. She was very independent, intelligent, and essentially lived on her own after Harold died until she was 96. Elizabeth dearly loved animals and they loved her. She was also very loving, generous, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Elizabeth leaves numerous dear cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Harold on January 6, 2000. Special thanks to Linda and Dean Helsom for welcoming Elizabeth into their family.
