RICHARDS, Gertrude Maria (Wotzka)(Miles) – of Davison, age 91, entered into God’s loving embrace on November 6, 2016. A Funeral Service will begin 1 PM Saturday, November 12, 2016, under the auspices of the Davison American Legion Auxiliary Post #267, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; followed by her granddaughter, Anne-Lynn Dillman. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of mourning, friends and family are encouraged to wear yellow in celebration of her life.
Gertrude was born in Komprachcice, Poland on December 2, 1924, daughter of the late Tomas and Gertrud (Dlugosch) Wotzka. She arrived in the United States in 1948 with her husband, Vernon and her son, Ronald and became a U.S. Naturalized Citizen on August 28, 1956. Gertrude has lived in Davison for 68 years. She was a long time member of Davison United Methodist Church, and Davison Country Club. Gertrude also belonged to the Davison American Legion Auxiliary Post #267 for 60 plus years.
Gertrude leaves behind a legacy of love in three children, Bill, John and Debbie; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Heidel Laqua and Rosa Wentz. She was preceded in death by husbands, Vernon Miles and Audley Richards; sons, Ron and Ken Miles; son-in-law, Fred C. Dillman II; five brothers and three sisters.
