POTTER, Carol Sue - Age 70, of Flint, died Saturday, June 23, 2018. Memorial visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township Thursday from 2-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Carol was born March 15, 1948 in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of John Shelby and Pearl Irene (Taylor) Barnett. She married Oliver Leroy Potter April of 1983 in Gaines. She was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School. She had resided in Flint for many years coming from Gaines. Carol retired as a waitress from Capital Coney Island and had worked at several other restaurants in the area. Surviving are: her husband, Oliver; children, Michelle Barnett of Fenton, Kenneth Weinert of Swartz Creek, Jerry Weinert of Midland, Melonie (David) Sheltrown of Saulsbury, TN, James Henry Weinert, Jr. of Flint, and Diane Hart of Flint; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, John, Jr., Harold, Timothy, and Donald Barnett; sisters, Elanie Buckner, Velda Hall, and Sharon Black; several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Gavin. Tribute may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
