IRISH, Marguerite Viola - age 88 of Holly, Michigan, passed peacefully on July 24, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, July 27, with one hour of visitation prior to, at Hill Funeral Home -11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan with Pastor Philip Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be held 4pm-9pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Those desiring may make contributions to Salvation Army. Marguerite was born February 18, 1928, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of William T. and Sarah E.(Newton) Elliott. She was married to Leo B. Irish on November 14, 1953 after having served in the U.S. Army in the Women’s Army Corp. during the Korean Conflict (1947-1950) in Okinawa, Philippines. Marguerite was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holly. She enjoyed watching old movies, playing cards, and interacting with her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leo B. Irish, her sister, Patricia A.(Larry) Schuh, and her children, Brian C. (Lisa) Irish and Craig L. (Rhonda) Irish of Fenton, and Sarah E. (John) Nicastri of Daphne, AL, Elaine M. (Jerel) Merical of Waukee, IA, 4 grandchildren: Kathryn K. Irish, Ashleigh E. Stone, and Thomas A. Stone, and Katherine J.Merical, 2 great-grandchildren: Peter J. and Vivian K. Levenson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter: Bonnie M., 2 brothers: Lawson E. and Lawrence E., 1 sister: Verna S., and 1 niece: Colleen E.
