OXFORD, Gailon E. - Of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Genesee Care Center.
Visitation 11am-2pm and 4-8pm Tuesday, May 24, 2016 and 11am Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Gary Cech officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Reverence Hospice.
Gailon was born in Flint on June 9, 1941, the son of the late Clarence and Madeline Oxford. Gailon married Alberta Groves on June 24, 1961 in Flint. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Gailon was a member of Grand Blanc Masonic Lodge #571 F.&A.M. and the Grand Blanc American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, woodworking and spending time with his family. Gailon retired from General Motors and was a business owner for many years.
Surviving are wife, Alberta;
2 children, Darren and wife Carrie of Parrish, Florida, Michelle and husband Phil Mandley of Franklin, Tennessee;
3 grandchildren, Andrea, Ryan, and Evan;
2 sisters, Maritta Carpenter and Sharon and husband Jim Rouse all of Grand Blanc;
Sisters-in-law, Rovena Nitz of Flint, Jane and husband John Van Y of Oscoda, Linda and husband Bob Fullerton of Vanderbilt;
Brother-in-law, William and wife Joy Groves of Missouri;
Many nieces and nephews.
