Hughey, Sylvia Jeanette - Age 83, of Flint, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2018, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 13 at the Bristol Road Church of Christ, 1315 W. Bristol Rd., Flint, Steve Cunningham officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to H.I.S. Ministry. Sylvia was born January 14, 1935 in Dickson TN the daughter of Jesse and Mattie B. (Arnold) Crowe. She married Roy Faxon Hughey on March 24, 1954; he preceded her in death June 5, 2011. She retired from A.C. Spark Plug with 33 years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Locals 651 and 659. Sylvia had been a member of the Bristol Road Church of Christ since 1961. She has a story recorded in the Story Corps in the National Library of Congress in Washington DC. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She loved her family and friends. She was a fully devoted mother to her children and more. She loved the Lord and her church family. Surviving are: three children, Theresa M. (Ron) Ancira of Grand Blanc, Russell "Barry" (Michele) Hughey of Burton, Ronald D. (Stacey Watters) Hughey of Flint; grandchildren, Adam, Bethany, Emily, Angela, Branden, Rory and Chelsea; 11 great grandchildren; brother, James (Patsy) Crow; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Gary D. Booker; grandson Matthew D. Booker; and four siblings, Bobby, Barbara, William and Judy.
