Agnes Gross
Age 92 of Chesaning passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Westfall Adult Foster Care in Montrose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday June 30th at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, formerly Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Father Bill Gruden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 9:00pm on Monday June 29th at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel; a Scripture Service will take place at 7:00pm and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed at 8:00pm.
Agnes was born on September 6, 1922 to John and Wilhelmina (Sanders) Wenzlick. On February 7, 1942, she married Carl J. Gross; he predeceased her in 1985 after 43 years of marriage.
Agnes worked as a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards (especially Setback), and gardening on her family farm, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Agnes was also a member of St. Peter’s, formerly Our Lady.
Agnes is survived by her children, Carol DeShazo, Bill Gross, Dorothy (Tom) Wendling, Joe (Sandy) Gross, and Melvin Gross; her son-in-law, Dennis Weisenberger, and her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Ruth Weisenberger; her son-in-law, Ray DeShazo; and her daughters-in-law, Joyce Gross and Patti Gross.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gerri Klein, Carol Westfall, and the staff of Westfall Adult Foster Care, and also to Heart to Heart Hospice for their love and support. |
