Rosemary Mulnix age 90 of Durand, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at McLaren Regional Hospital in Flint. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Lennon United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Byron Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rosemary Schmidt was born March 11, 1928 in Big Rapids, MI a daughter of Paul and Anna (Schmadae) Schmidt. On June 8, 1946 she married Lyle Mulnix. He preceded her in death in 2001. Rosemary was a member of the Lennon United Methodist Church, 4-H, V.F.W. Woman’s Auxiliary, the M.E.A., N.E.A. and Farm Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and horseback riding. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she taught at Genesee Schools and Swartz Creek Schools for 33 years.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Roxanne (Dave) Canute and Dale Mulnix; daughter-in-law, Barbara Mulnix; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Rehkopf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Mulnix; son, Paul Mulnix; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
