DANG, Khiet T. – Of Burton, age 87, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Briarwood Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Nelson officiating.
Visitation 10-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Khiet was born on May 15, 1926 in Cao Bang,China.
He proudly served his country, South Vietnam, for 18 years.
Khiet and Kim Thu came to America as “boat people” in 1978, sponsored by their daughter and son-in-law.
He was a photographer, was in the ARVN Army Republic of Vietnam and was a Cook.
Mr. Dang was proprietor of the Golden Seahorse Restaurant in Flint.
Khiet leaves to cherish his memory, companion, Dana Nguyen;
daughters, Thuy (Giao) Nguyen of Portland, Oregon, Ai (Jim) Whitney of Davison;
son, Chung Dang of Vietnam and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Thu.
