MURPHY, Kenneth R. – of Clio, age 65, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 1, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 1PM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Ken was born October 6, 1947 in Flint, MI to the late John and Arlene (Sather) Murphy. He lived in Clio most of his life. Ken was a graduate of Hill McCloy High School. He retired from Markee Electric as a general electrician after 44 years and was a member of the Electrical Workers Local Union # 948 AFL. Ken enjoyed NASCAR, working on cars and was also an avid farmer for 42 years.
Surviving are: daughter, Kendra (Matt) Connolly of Charlotte, NC; brother, Randy (Janet) Murphy of Clio; Bev (Bob) Doyle of Montrose; girlfriend, Rita Thornburg; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
