BLESSING, Frank L. – of Grand Blanc, age 97, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at The Oaks of Woodfield. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan with Robert Matchett officiating. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and 10 to 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Blessing was born December 17, 1917 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late Louis O. and Anna E. Blessing. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School and was honored as a distinguished alumni in 2003. Frank married Kathleen Minock in San Francisco, California on July 28, 1941 and she preceeded him in death in 2007. Mr. Blessing served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He founded Blessing Plumbing and Heating in 1946 with his brother Alfred. Mr. Blessing had been a member of the Flint Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors and the American Legion. Surviving are: children, Linda K. Carlson, JoAnne (Paul) Normand, and Louis O. (Debra) Blessing; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces,nephews and friends. Mr. Blessing was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathleen, and by two brothers Alfred (Ike) and Herbert (Red) Blessing. The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff at The Oaks. The nursing staff showed exceptional kindness to our father in his final days.
