SMILEY, Mark Elvis - Of Lansing, age 44, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 12noon Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Pastor Dale C. Swihart Jr. officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Jobs Daughters Foundation of Michigan or HIKE (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment).
Visitation 6-8pm Friday 11am-2pm and 5-8pm Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
A Memorial Service will be held 7pm Sunday by the State Officers of the Michigan DeMolay followed by a Lighted Cross Service by the Jobs Daughters.
Mark was born in Lansing on September 20, 1968. Mark graduated from Lansing Eastern High School, Class of 1986. He was a member of the Swim Team and was a member of Lansing Lodge No 33, Grand Blanc Chapter OES No. 507. He was past State Master Council of DeMolay International and past Associate Bethel Guardian of Bethel No 50. Lansing-Okemos. Mark was employed by Auto Owners Insurance Company as Manager of Communications. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Lansing Township which was his real love, to help others.
Surviving are parents, Ken and Marilee of Fenton;
sister, Sheila of West Branch;
brother, Duane and wife Ann;
lovely nieces and nephew, Emma, Tim and Sarah of Jackson;
grandmother, Mae Smiley;
uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends, Mary Kay Gavitt and Karen Creaser
