Jerry Duane Jamison, age 79, lifelong resident of Deerfield Township, North Branch passed away on December 21, 2016 at Detroit Henry Ford Hospital. Jerry was born on July 29, 1937 in Deerfield Township to Edmond and Pearl (Carpenter) Jamison. Jerry graduated from North Branch High School in 1955 and he continued his education at GMI in Flint. Jerry married Sue Jacot on August 11, 1956. He retired from AC Spark Plug in 1997. Jerry helped in starting of two churches; Fostoria Baptist Church and the Grace Baptist Church in Lapeer, where he was currently a member. Jerry also enjoyed sports, gardening and woodworking.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sue; children: Pam (Tim) Shaver of Silverwood, Nancy (Cliff) Shaver of Silverwood, Lyle (Mary) Jamison of North Branch, Mary (David) Yelland of North Branch, and Amy (Tory) Dewberry of Redford; 16 grandchildren: Rachel (Skip) Collins, TJ (Misty) Shaver, Michelle (Jeremy) Dahlquist, Valerie (Dennis) Rew, Tony (Laura) Shaver, Melanie (Jared) Childs, Nicole (Chad) Sipka, Laura (John) Billig, Jody (Bobby) Hanna, Julie Jamison, Jonathan (Amanda) Yelland, Tina (Jordan) Davidson, Leah (Evan) Haun, Joel (Karen) Yelland, Jason Yelland and Betsy Dewberry; 21 great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Whanetta Jamison and Eva Jamison both of North Branch, Pat (Gerald) Morrison of North Carolina, Judy Harold of Otter Lake; brother-in-law, Milton (Phyllis) Jacot of East Tawas; cousin, Bob (Genny) Carpenter, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Glenn, Kenneth, Gordon, and Eugene; and son-in-law, Lester Drennen.
Memorials may be directed to Grace Baptist Church of Lapeer.
The family will be present for visitation on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 3 to 8 pm at the Fostoria Baptist Church and Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 10 to 11 am with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am at Fostoria Baptist Church. Pastor Steven Henry and Pastor David Yelland will officiate. Burial will be in West Deerfield Cemetery.
