Alvin "Al" Parsell, 94, of Gladwin, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, September 28, 2020. He was born on July 30, 1926, the son of Jasper & Mabel Parsell in Caro. He was united in marriage to Norma Mundy on June 17, 1950, in Fenton. She preceded him in death in 1969. He was blessed to find love again, and married Sharon Keeven on September 16, 1981, in Hilo, Hawaii. Al worked as a parts manager for Applegate Chevrolet in Flint until his retirement. He spent his later life in Gladwin since 2007, and previously resided in Burton. Al was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 38 years: Sharon Parsell of Gladwin; children: Cheryl (Mark) O’Donnell of Grand Blanc, Ann (Benigo) Cortez of Florida, Sandra Howard of Clio, Rhonda (Jeff) McBride of Tennessee, Julie (Gail) Parsell of Swartz Creek, Jennifer Williams (Scott McGinnis) of Swartz Creek, and Gerald (Csilla) Parsell of Clarkston. His children blessed him with 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister: Dorothy Mundy of Swartz Creek and brother: Robert Parsell of Swartz Creek.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Norma; and sister: Marilyn Bakeman.
Funeral Mass will be conducted by Fr. J. Marcel Portelli on Friday, October 2, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of mass. He will be laid to rest at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
