GRANTNER, Laura Audrey (Pickett) – of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Flint, MI, age 89, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 6 PM Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Interment 12 PM Friday, September 20, 2024 in Rose Township Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton, MI. The family will welcome visitors 4-6 PM Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home.
Laura was born in Whittemore, MI on March 12, 1935, daughter of the late George and Leila (Pattengill) Pickett. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend whose warm spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met. On June 12, 1970, Laura married Ronald Grantner, with whom she shared a loving and devoted partnership until his passing on August 13, 2017. Their enduring love was a testament to the strength of their bond. Laura had a zest for life and cherished the moments she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her passion for life was evident in her various interests, from visiting antique shops and flea markets to enjoying trips to the casino. She had a knack for finding joy in simple pleasures and loved playing cards with family and friends. Her career at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and AC Spark Plug was marked by her dedication and hard work. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her professional life, as she was known for her caring and giving spirit, always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Laura approached life with resilience and grace, always finding a way to bring a smile to those around her. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her family and friends, who will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought into their lives. Laura leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her.
Laura is survived by 3 daughters, Linda Froats, Laurie (Larry) Simms and Anna (Javier Baez) Grantner; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Jessica) Froats, Ryan (Jessica Stewart) Froats, Paige Simms and Jax Simms; 4 great-grandchildren, Makenzie Froats, Makenna Froats, Makinley Froats and Makayla Froats; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leila Pickett; husband, Ronald Grantner; 7 siblings and her favorite grand-dog, Finnigan Knox Grantner.
