ROBERTS, Catherine E. – of Clio, age 86, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at McLaren Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, November 24, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Prince officiating. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11AM until 5PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Catherine was born October 21, 1931 in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee to the late Leonard and Miva (Ricketts) Cox. She graduated from Soddy High School in 1949. Catherine married Richard Roberts in Clio on October 19, 1979. Richard preceded her in death on May 13, 2009. Mrs. Roberts retired from General Motors in 1983 with 30 years seniority and was a member of UAW Local #326. She also was a member of the Flint Organ Club and Order and served as the Worthy Matron of the Eastern Stars from 1995 until 1996. Catherine enjoyed making deposits at Soaring Eagle Casino, riding motorcycles, going to the beach, and heading to Florida for the winter. She also loved traveling. Catherine visited many locations around the world.
Surviving are: Children: Debra (Mike) Vicchiarelli and Bill (Lynette) Miller; Grandchildren: Bill (Tonya) Miller III, Brian (Lorraine) Miller, Angela (Nathan) Joynt, and Lisa (Max) Glick; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Brothers: Sydney (Vi) Cox, Russell Cox, Charlie (Barbara) Cox, and Claude Cox; Sisters: Betty Cox, Myrtle Neighbors, Sue Beasley, and Elaine Hong; Step Children: Bruce Roberts and Monica Shepard; Step grandchildren: Emily Roberts, Brian Roberts, Dylan Shepard, and Robin Shepard.
