John Thomas Hysell, age 77, of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
John was born to his late parents Kay (Clara Behnke) and Paul Hysell on January 4th, 1947, in Gladwin Michigan. He Graduated from Gerrish-Higgins High School as President of the 1965 Senior Class. He then attended Albion College and joined the Sigma Nu Fraternity. John met the love of his life Judy during his time at Albion. After Graduation in 1969, he was hired by I.B.M, Kalamazoo, as a programmer for mainframe hospital information systems. John went on to marry Judy in 1971. In 1978, he was promoted to the I.B.M. Southfield office. He worked with many hospitals in and around Detroit and became one of two specialists on I.B.M.'s PCS-ADS application. He consulted with hospitals across the United States, France, Spain, the U.K., Austria and Australia. John left I.B.M as a consulting Senior Systems Engineer in 1984, to start Hytech Systems Inc. He continued to work in the health industry and with I.B.M. until he retired in 2020. John had many interests throughout his life such as fishing, boating, Basketball, golf, pool, poker, and woodworking.
John is survived by his wife Judy, his older brother Timothy (Carolyn) Hysell of Flint; nieces Tammy Haney of Flint, and Christine (Mike) Heron of Fenton; and nephew Timothy (Sarah) Hysell of Traverse City. There are also 12 great and great-great nieces and nephews.
John was truly loved and will be missed.
A memorial visitation for John will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
