CAIN, Harold E. – of Clio, age 82, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Private inurnment beside his wife will be at Flint Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society or the Clio Senior Center.
Harold was born in Bliss Township on July 2, 1930 to the late Blanche and Willis Cain, the third of five children. He graduated from Pellston High School in 1948 and moved to Flint to work at Buick. He retired in 1986 after 36 years of service and was a proud member of the UAW Local #599. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and served in Germany and England. His greatest pleasure was his family and he dearly loved playing cribbage with his son. Mr. Cain donated blood regularly and had given over ten gallons. He enjoyed going to his retiree breakfast on Wednesdays and to the Clio Senior Center of Fridays.
Harold’s wife, Delores May (Shantz), preceded him in death in 1985. He is survived by: his aunt, Viva Dorr of Flint; his siblings, Gert Haines of Afton, Lucille (Keith) Mosher of Lake City, Lloyd Cain of Holt, Olga Gardner of Washington, MI; Dick (Marilyn) Shantz of Grand Rapids; daughter, Connie Wruck of CA; son, Doug (Karen) Cain of Gaines; 6 grandchildren, Krista Rainwater of NM, Tommy Wruck (and Sarah) of Clio, Aimee (David) Czacharowski of DE, Captain Chris (Kyla) Couch of NM, Donnie (Lindsay) Couch of Flint, Brandon (Chalee) Couch of Washington State; and five great grandchildren.
