VASBINDER, Russell Francis - age 78, of Linden, died May 18, 2020. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Linden Beautification Club or the Open Gate Garden Club. Russell was born April 4, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the son of Russell and Frances (Skero) Vasbinder. He married Rosemary Duggan on March 3, 1961 in Connellsville, PA. Russell retired from General Motors as an International Manufacturing Manager. He always loved his work and was proud to work at GM for 43 years. Through GM he was able to travel the world to include Asia, the Far East, Europe, and South America. Russ's greatest love was being on the lake watching the kids ("the gang") ski and drive the boat! He loved to BBQ, make homemade soup, have big family dinners where we sat around the table outside till dark, and had huge bonfires! He also loved their trips to Florida to be snowbirds for the winter and play tennis with the many great friends they had made over the years. He has numerous family members, and those that are like family, who will miss his kindness and generosity. Surviving are: wife, Rosemary of Linden; daughter, Molly (Chris) Henderson of Linden; son, Sean Vasbinder of Fenton; six grandchildren, Drew, Hayley, Justin, Kaylee, Ellie and Jolie; great-grandson, Tytan; brother, Regis (Carolyn) Vasbinder of PA; two sisters-in-law, Gigi Byrne of PA and Celeste (Jim) Lowney of VA; brother-in-law, Bart Duggan of PA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
