Vancise, Albert V., age 86, of Montrose, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Mt. Zion Catholic Community, 8228 N. McKinley Road, Flushing, with Father Jim Bessert officiating. Burial will follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:30pm-7:30pm on Friday, February 14th at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main Street, Flushing. A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 6:30pm. Visitation will also be from 10:00am on Saturday at the church until the time of service.
Al was born in Durand, Michigan on July 31, 1938 the son of the late Charles and Sadie (Wregglesworth) Vancise. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He married Esther Marzluft in 1963. Al retired from General Motors after 30 years. He was a longtime, faithful member of Mt. Zion Catholic Community.
Albert had many hobbies. He loved baseball, basketball and most importantly music. He was a member of "The Brothers Five", a popular, local wedding and event band. He loved going to concerts and teaching others guitar and bass. Together, Al and Esther loved to travel, especially in their rv. They enjoyed going to places all over the country and seeing new things. Al was a people person, he loved to talk and swap stories. He had many lifelong friends and will be greatly missed.
Al was a devoted family man. Taking care of his family and his relationship with God were top priorities. He was happiest with a crowd of family in his house joined together around the piano and playing music. He was humble, generous and kind-hearted.
Al is survived by his wife of 61 years Esther Vancise; daughters, Christine Morse and Amy (Chad) Hall; grandchildren, Naomi Morse and Scott and Carisa Hall, his brothers, Richard Vancise and Charles (Julie) Vancise. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Vancise, stillborn daughter Caroline Vancise and his sister, Beverly Britner. |
