SALEM, Margaret Mary - Age 94, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Father Louis Ekka celebrant. Burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Visitation will be held 4PM-8PM Saturday, 2PM-8PM on Sunday with a 7PM rosary being prayed at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of service at the church Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or St. Thomas More Academy. Margaret was born in Detroit, on May 13, 1922 the daughter of the late George and Mary (Soleman) Asher. Mrs. Salem married Ernest Salem in Detroit, on July 10, 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1981. Margaret enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Guild of St. Raphael. Surviving are: children, Ernest A. Salem of CA, Margo (Jeff) Bearss of Swartz Creek, Darrick Salem of Swartz Creek, Robert Salem of Swartz Creek; granddaughter, Jordan Salem and grandson, Asher Salem both of CA, Robert Bearss of Swartz Creek; sister, Josephine Shaway of Sterling Heights.
