Campbell, William “Bill” of Flushing, age 71, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014, at Rossell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
William was born in Flint, Michigan on July 8, 1943, the son of Rodvie and Willie (Lawrence) Campbell. He married Mary Jane Venne on June 24, 1978. Bill worked at GMI and General Motors, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge. Bill enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Lions and Red Wings. After retirement, Bill and Mary Jane enjoyed spending their winters at Club Naples RV Resort in Naples, Florida, but his greatest joy in life was being “Papa Bill”.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; children, Bob Campbell of Clio, Andy Campbell of Hawaii, Tom and wife Nancy Campbell of Petoskey, Michele Griffin of Kansas, Marcia Christopher of Flushing, Mark and wife Melissa Catanzaro of California, Matt Catanzaro of California; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Lew and wife Karen Campbell, Frank and wife Sharon Campbell, Wayne and wife Pat Campbell, Dale and wife Kim Campbell; sister, Mary and husband Mike Fournier. |
