PIESKO, Helen A.- Age 98, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, November 1, 2014. Services will be held 12 PM Saturday November 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Fr. Paul Schwermer officiating. Visitation will be held 10 Am until time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Helen was born October 7, 1916 in Flint, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Andrewski) Sugar. She married Edward Piesko on May 18, 1935; he preceded her in death January 18, 1994. She was a former member of All Saints Catholic Church. She was a member of the Dom Polski PLAV. She loved cooking, making polish Golumpkis, baking, dancing the Polka, and taking trips to the casino.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Donna and husband Richard Burris of Swartz Creek; five grandchildren, Jeannie and husband Dr. John Commet, Gerald Piesko, Michelle and husband Mark Newman, Trena Burris, Renee and husband Scott Krueger; six great-grandchildren, Alicia, Matthew, Jason, Gabriel, Lauren, and Ashley; sister, Wanda and husband Russell Colon; brother, Leo and wife Marilyn Sugar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Piesko; son, Dr. Gerald Piesko; daughter-in-law, Carol Piesko; brother, Matthew Sugar; and sister, Nellie O'Heren.
