MALONE, William “Slim” – of Burton, age 89, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at The Pines of Burton. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Robert Taylor officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Friday, October 18, 2019. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515 Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
William was born in Paragould, Arkansas on February 7, 1930, son of the late Samuel Jones and Willie Myrtie (Bailey) Malone. He married Lloy Evans in 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1959. William proudly served in the US Air Force. William enjoyed gardening and following politics. He loved watching Detroit Tiger baseball, and was always willing to help anyone in need. William retired from Buick in 1986 after 33 years of service.
William is survived by his children, Mona (Dan) Gossel, Gwyn (Tom) Farkas, Rick (Denise) Malone; grandchildren, Erika Gossel, Stephanie (Alan) Yost, William (Tom Moore) Farkas, Kathryn (Kumail Lassi) Farkas, Christopher and Kyle Malone; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jake Yost. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Herman, Melvin, Sam, Thomas, Betty. The family would like to thank Tina, Sarah, Brandy and the staff at the Pines of Burton, and Trevor from Heart to Heart Hospice.
