HARBIN, NORMA L. age 87, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Swank Home Assisted Living in Swartz Creek, MI. Norma will be interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. At her request no funeral service will be held. Norma was born on January 28, 1927 in Flint, MI. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Bruce Harbin in 1946. Norma was a homemaker and later worked at the Fair Store in the South Flint Plaza and Courtland Center. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother attending many athletic events for her sons in Flint and grandsons in Vero Beach, FL. Norma always sacrificed personal needs for the sake of her family’s needs. She loved playing volleyball back in the 50’s and 60’s in a league at McKinley Junior High. Later in life she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends right up until the time of her death. Norma is survived by her children Bruce (Marty) of Burton, Peggy (Randy) of Vero Beach, FL, Skip (Theresa) of Flint, and Chuck (Mary) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren Bruce, Kim, Jeanie, Sam, Shelley, Michelle, Lisa, Ryan, Adam; great-grandchildren Jim, Jamie, Blake, Luke, Joe, Justin, Tyler, Braeden, Bella, Hailey; brother and sisters Bill Moesch, Ruth Wallace, Irma (Rex) Gulick; brother-in-law Don (Elizabeth) Harbin. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce; parents Fred and Alice Moesch; sister Alice and brothers Marvin and Fred. Special thanks to the staff at the Swank Home and the Medical Team for their kindness, care, and compassion. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
