ROSSMAN, Loring Peter - Age 86, formerly of Gaines, died May 5, 2018. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Rev. Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM Monday and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Autumn Ridge of Clarkston, 5700 Water Tower Place, Clarkston, MI 48346 . Loring was born September 26, 1931 in Goodrich, the son of Ralph C. and Claire (Stimson) Rossman. He was a graduate of Fenton High School in 1950 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Loring married Dorothy Myers on July 4, 1952 in Grand Blanc and she preceded him in death on July 12, 2011. Loring retired from General Motors Chevrolet Truck Assembly Plant in 1988 after 34 years of service. He was an auto mechanic for 11 years at Flint Auto Auction, a member of Gaines United Methodist Church and Genesee Valley Tractor Collectors Club. Loring enjoyed antique tractors and was a 4H Leader. Surviving are: four children, Gail Levi of Gaines, Michelle (John) Schlaud of Gaines, Pamela Rossman of Russells Point, OH and Charles (Karen) Rossman of Grand Blanc; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Thwing of Lapeer and Antoinette Tenlen of Laingsburg. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Paul Rossman; sisters, Pamela Rossman and Shelia Bexell; infant son, Michael Edward Rossman.
