ESSY, Hassan Tony (Jack) – Age 79, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. Mr. Essy was born March 15, 1933 in Lebanon the son of Anthony and Meba (Khouri) Essy. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. Jack was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Amsyrleb. He enjoyed gardening and working with stained glass. From 1961 until March of 2011 Jack was a hair stylist owning and operating Anthony’s Design. Surviving are his children, Tony (Sherry) Essy, Jackie (Greg) Jakeway, Renee (Kevin) Madaus, John (Leslie) Essy, Gina (Art) Romero; 15 grandchildren; sister, Ann (John) Rashid of Lansing; brother, George (Sherry) Essy of Flint, nephew, George Jr.; and many more nieces and nephews. Mr. Essy was preceded in death by his sister, Ramona Riddle and his parents. The family would like to thank Tracy Farah, Mark Elias and Fairlane Nursing and Rehab for their excellent love and care of our father. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reigle Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint, MI. Father Robert Copeland will officiate.
