Thomas Irving Lamson, age 93, of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully into the Lord's hands on October 21, 2024, nearly two years to the day of the passing of his wife, Rita. A memorial service will be held for the family at a later date. Pastor Eric Lewis to officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Hospice Homes of Genesee and Lapeer Counties (LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care) Agency Fund at 4085 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509. Tom was born August 10, 1931, to Ruby and Arthur Lamson in Stambaugh, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Northern in 1950. Tom worked for three months at AC Sparkplug then enlisted in the Navy in 1950. He was stationed at Quonset Point, Rhode Island, where he met and married the love of his life, Rita Jean Corso in 1952. Tom served in the Korean War but was stationed stateside as aThird-Class Petty Officer. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Then they returned to Flint, Michigan, where Tom resumed his job at AC Sparkplug becoming a tool and die maker until his retirement. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and bowling with his sons and grandchildren. Most of all, Tom was a family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and telling stories to anyone who would listen. His sense of humor was in the forefront until the day he passed away.
Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory, four children: John and wife, Tina Lamson of Flint, Karen and husband, Rod Uhelski of Burton, Tommy Lamson of Flint, and Doug and wife, Nancy Lamson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruby Barlow of Warwick, Rhode Island; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; and his daughter-in-law, Tracy Lamson; his parents, Arthur and Ruby Lamson; his four siblings; amongst others.
