MCKNIGHT, Lloyd – of Clio, age 94, died Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Cranberry Park Assisted Living. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Bill Christiansen officiating. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan at 2:00 PM Thursday. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of Choice.
Lloyd was born April 5, 1925 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late James and Irene (Near) McKnight. He grew up in Bad Axe, Michigan and attended school there. He served his country in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific Theatre. He married Althea Ramage in May of 1945 and she preceded him in death on January 17, 2005. Prior to his retirement in 1979, Lloyd worked for GM at the Buick plant as an Experimental Trimmer with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God where he helped build the church. Lloyd also served as a Deacon, Usher, taught Sunday School and was a Royal Ranger. He enjoyed woodcarving, hunting, fishing, camping and golfing. He also did upholstery work on cars and boats.
Surviving are: Daughter, Judy Hendon; Grandchildren, Rex (Kelli) Burpee, Janeen (Rob) Barthlomew, Laura (Mark) Byerly, James Burpee, Rebekah (Richard) Beers, Courtney Hendon; Great Grandchildren, Brittani, Bridget, Elisha, Kaleb, Alyssa, Andia, Brendan, Shannan, Jordan, Nathan, Blake, Amber, James, Kevin, Mikayla; 4 Great Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Les McKnight, Chuck (Lana) McKnight, Dave (Bonnie) McKnight, Jim McKnight; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Althea McKnight; Son, Randall McKnight; Daughter, Cheryl McKnight; Siblings, Ray, Mary, Lucille, Harold, Florence and Sam.
