CUSHMAN, Julia Elizabeth (Betty) – of Burton, age 95, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at A Place to Remember Assisted Living in Davison. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton, MI 48509; Rev. Fr. John Machiorlatti and Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley concelebrants. Burial will be in Ortonville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM to 8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. On Thursday, there will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Julia was born in Flint, MI on October 14, 1922, daughter of the late Walton and Myrtle (Root) Minkler. She married Hubert Cushman on September 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2001. Julia was a member of the Blue Army, Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society. She enjoyed painting statues for the churches. Her family was her life.
Julia is survived by her children, David (Elyse) Cushman, Bonnie, predeceased (Donald) Perkins, Suzanne Cushman, Brenda Dunn, Earl (Dora, predeceased) Cushman, Jack (Janice) Cushman, Laura (Chris) Maki and Kimberly (William) Farmer; 29 grandchildren; many great and great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Barbara) Minkler. She was preceded in death by her brother, John (Sally) Minkler.
