SHAFFER, Esther M. – of Davison, age 82, passed away May 24, 2017 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Chris Radcliffe officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Davison.
Esther was born in Flint, MI on March 14, 1935, daughter of the late James W. and Alneta (Hilliker) Johnston. She married Carl Shaffer on September 26, 1953 in Davison, MI. Esther was a member of First Baptist Church in Davison. She cherished her family and her faith and established a legacy of love that will live on for generations.
Esther is survived by her husband, Carl; children, Carolyn (Dan) Ramirez, James (Terri) Shaffer, David (Pam) Shaffer, Steven (Diane) Shaffer, Timothy (Fern) Shaffer and Thomas (Nancy) Shaffer; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Vohwinkle and brother, Bill Johnston. She was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Johnston, Jack Johnston, Jim Johnston; sisters, Janice Sullivan and Mary Hollo; grandson, James Shaffer.
