LLOYD, Martha – of Davison, age 84, passed away September 9, 2014 at her residence. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 4 PM Friday, September 12, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church Music Ministry or the National Autism Association in honor of Austin Seames.
Martha was born in Elkin, NC on December 31, 1929, daughter of the late Omar and Zera (Dowell) Gentry. She married Jack Lloyd on November 12, 1983 in Flint. Together they started Jac-Mar Catering and continued until they “retired” to Lakes of the North. Martha was always the first to volunteer her time and talents. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma and she made beautiful memories for all of us with her love for family gatherings and her southern cooking. We will miss our mom’s beautiful smile and love. We know she is enjoying being with her loved ones in Heaven.
Martha is survived by daughters, Mary (Carl) Knieper, Teresa (Ed) Seames; sons, Don Slawter and Gary Slawter; brothers, Freddie (Darlene) Gentry and Wayne (Cathy) Gentry; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sherry (Scott), Cody and Kylie Vradenburg, Kim (Kevin), Josh (Lisa), Jade Babcock, Toni (Clair) Rupright, Dillon and Tyler Beach, Krista (Steve), Allie Lueck and Austin Seames, Eddie, Hannah Seames, Zac (Holly), J.D. and Grace Slawter, Autumn Slawter and Jr. Slawter, Buddy and Mandy Slawter; father of her children, H.C (Wanda) Slawter; sisters-in-law, Joyce Gentry, Martha “Sis” Lloyd; brother-in-law, Maurice Comerford; step-children, Robert, John, Jim, Katherine, Mary Ellen and Theresa and their spouses, many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, John “Bobby” Slawter; beloved sisters and brothers, Pat Comerford, Rita Tucker, Omar “Sonny” Gentry and Benny Gentry. A special thank you to Cindy-Beebe-Johnson, Ashley Johnson and Dorothy Jordan, she treasured their friendships and love. We would like to thank Sister Marie Leonard for her friendship. Thank you to Fr. Andrew for his prayers and love for our mom, it meant so much. Thank you to Medilodge of Montrose, McLaren Hospital and McLaren Hospice for their wonderful care.
