GAGE, William G., Sr. (Bill) - Of Grand Blanc, age 77, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, February 16, 2018.
He was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on August 2, 1940 to his parents, William D. and Eleanor Gage.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pat), after 58 years of marriage;
his son, Bryan Gage;
daughter-in-law, Tamara Gage, of the late William Gage, Jr.;
grandsons, Adam and Aaron (Stephanie) Gage and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy B. Gage, in 1961 and William G. Gage, Jr., in 2011; brother, Mike Gage; sister-in-law, Carol Gage and his parents, Bill and Eleanor Gage.
Bill graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1959. He made his home in Belleville, Michigan for 40 years, where he raised his sons. He worked in retail sales until he was injured and permanently disabled in 1986. He and his wife moved from Belleville to Grand Blanc, Michigan in October of 2008.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. February 26, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Larry Survance officiating.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the funeral home.
Bill will be laid to rest beside his son, Bill Jr. at Hillside Cemetery in Belleville, Michigan.
Bill’s life celebration will take place at Antonio’s Restaurant on Canton Center Road in Canton, Michigan, following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, Bill’s wishes are for donations to The Michigan Marching Band in Ann Arbor, where his son, Bill Jr. was a very proud member and played the trumpet. He would like trumpets to be purchased in his son’s memory for band members in need.
