Robert “Bob” Francis Davis 96 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Pioneer Golden Estates of Clare. Robert was born April 8, 1928 in Flint, Michigan the son of Francis B. Davis and Clara A. (Hundshamer) Davis. Mr. Davis honorably enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during World War II as well as the Korean Conflict. Bob was united in marriage to Ms. Madaline Anne Tallman on June 1, 1946, in Flint. Mrs. Davis preceded Bob in death on May 11, 2017, after seventy years of marriage.
Mr. Davis had resided in rural Harrison since 1979, moving from Montrose, Michigan. Bob and Madeline co-owned and co-operated Mad Bob’s Barber and Beauty Shop of Montrose for over thirty years. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 404 of Harrison and VFW Post 3039 of Farwell for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, tinkering in his garage, especially when he could be rehabbing a lawn mower or a non-running small engine.
Surviving Mr. Davis is his daughter, Michele Allen and husband Bob of Millington, Michigan, two grandchildren; Wendy Karl and Chad Lee, several great-grandchildren, his longtime adopted daughter-in-law, Patricia Wery of Southgate, Michigan, plus one niece and one nephew. Bob also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ron Davis, one daughter, Brenda Gruber, one son, David Davis, one granddaughter, Daina Davis and one grandson, Derek Davis.
Funeral services and military honors for Mr. Davis will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison. Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Montrose Township Cemetery, Montrose.
