Ed was born June 14, 1948 in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles H. and Arla J. (Frasier) Gilmore. He was a 1966 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School and he attended Wayne State University. He was veteran of the U.S. Army serving as an Army Ranger in the 82nd Airborne. Ed met the love of his life, Kristina Lee Jones, while in junior high school. They married on July 3, 1968 in Columbus, GA. Ed retired in 1997 from the City of Flint Police Department as a Detective Sergeant, where he worked alongside three of his very close friends; Red Eye, Bulldog, and Bones. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Arrowhead Lodge #126. Ed was a passionate golfer and had the opportunity to play his dream course, St. Andrews, in Scotland. He was an avid baseball fan, spending countless hours over the past 30 years participating in fantasy leagues and touring ballparks around the country with his son, Joel. Above all, Ed loved his family and was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could ever hope for. He was truly one of a kind, with a sense of humor all his own.
