FENT, Jack R. – of Montrose, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, December 9, 2011 at Montrose United Methodist Church, Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiating. Burial will be at Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Thursday from 2-9PM and at the church on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the Montrose United Methodist Church.
Jack was born June 27, 1929 in Flint to the late Rollin and Hilda (Volz) Fent. He was a resident of Montrose his entire life. Jack was a 1947 graduate of Montrose Schools. He married Myrtle Jerke on July 11, 1953. Mr. Fent farmed in Montrose, was a carpenter, then worked at Severance Tool for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Montrose United Methodist Church for 69 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Surviving are: wife, Myrtle; son, Brian (Roberta) Fent of Montrose; 2 loving grandchildren, Heather (Stuart) Aspinall of Grand Haven, Amy Fent of Frankenmuth; brother, James (Trudy) Fent of Owosso; special friends, Ron and Kay Draper of Montrose; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: his son, Jack D. Fent in 2008; daughter in law, Cindy Fent; and a grandson, Jonathan.
