Charles Harold Weisenburger
Age 74 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Sparrow Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 3pm Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Owosso First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jim Britt officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 8pm and Saturday at the church from 12noon til the time of service.
Charles was born June 12, 1939 in Hull, North Dakota, the son of Arthur and Genevieve (Goward) Weisenburger.
He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and married Sherrill Lawrence in Flint on May 16, 1959.
Charles was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Flint. He spent many years being a Leader for 4-H, Hush Puppies dog club along side his wife and a woodworking club “Sparks-N-Knots” and Boy Scouts (Weblos). He was an avid deer hunter and looked forward to the opening morning of deer season making his way to the woods and just taking in all that nature had to offer and of course finding a nice tree to lean on and rest his eyes.
Charles was employed with Universal Electric/ Magnetek and retiring after 33years as a machinist.
He is survived by his wife Sherrill; children Thomas (Pam) Weisenburger, Lynnae (Keith) Kelley and Shana Prieur (James LaPaugh); grandchildren Travis (Lori) Weisenburger, Josh (Heidi) Kelley, Emily Kelley and Maegen, Abigal, Rebecca and Rachel Prieur; great-grandchildren Payton, Claire and Tyler and many other loving family members and friends.
Charles was predeceased by his parents and sister Sara Kelly
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shiawassee County 4-H.
