KOVACS, Mary – of Davison, age 98, passed away March 16, 2018 at Hampton Manor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta St., Burton; Rev. Fr. Robert C. Bacik celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday, March 19, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Ezra Fund.

Mary was born in Flint, MI on July 6, 1919, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Karmos) Szontag. She married Steve Kovacs on November 4, 1939 and he preceded her in death. Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church as well as a member of St. Joseph Hungarian Church in Flint. She was President of the St. Elizabeth Society and President of the St. Joseph Hungarian Club. Mary had a vast knowledge of baking and loved to decorate cakes and make noodles. She loved and lived her life to the fullest.

Mary is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) Kovacs, Mary Ann (Al) Harrell; grandchildren, Mary Ann Kirsch, Stephanie Harrell, Michelle Parra, Joe Harrell, Margaret James, Anna Maria Szalay; nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Bobby Harrell.
