Ward, John Jr. – of Clio, age 82 went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Brian Southerland to officiate. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 2PM until 8PM and on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designations.
John was born March 30, 1942, in Ocala, Florida and moved to Michigan with his family shortly after. He graduated from Beecher High School and joined the US Army where he served from 1960-1963, specializing in communications. He married his beloved wife Joyce Hustvedt in 1966, and they had two children, Wendy and Michelle. Since John had no male children to carry on his name, his youngest grandson Michael, legally changed his name to Ward. John worked for GM as an inspector and retired in 1993, then continued working for Flushing Animal Hospital in maintenance. John and his wife Joyce were members of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, in Mt. Morris.
John is survived by his wife, Joyce; Daughters: Wendy (Brad) Grim of Clio and Michelle Montney of Clio. Four grandchildren: Amber, Becky, Jeffrey and Michael; five great-grandchildren and his brother Larry Ward of Midland. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma (Spencer) and John H Ward; Brothers: Robert and Franklin Ward. John was a great man and will be missed by many. |
