VanKUREN, William Marvin- Age 69, of Gaines, died Thursday, May 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, May 18, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held 1- 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM Sunday and 1 PM until the time of service Monday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the William VanKuren Memorial Fund.
William was born July 28, 1945 in Durand, the son of Charles Marvin and Mary Jane (Borst) VanKuren. He was a 1963 graduate of Fenton High School. He married Beverly Lorraine Burton on September 7, 1968 in Fenton. He had lived in Argentine Township for 18 years coming from Lennon. William was employed at Fenton Auto Value for 35 years. He was a member of the Lennon Lions Club and a former member of the Venice Township Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sports.
William is survived by his wife, Beverly; four children, Jason (Teresa) VanKuren of Swartz Creek, James "Jamie" (Mandy) VanKuren of Flint, Misty VanKuren of Gaines, Cory (Jamie) VanKuren of Lennon; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brother, Bob (Sherry) VanKuren of Flint; sister, Martha (Bud) Eckhart of AZ; several nieces and nephews; special brothers-in-law, Herman Burton of Lennon and Butch Hulett of Byron.
