Richard C. Martz, age 88 of Grand Blanc, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. He was born on March 30, 1928 in Flint to parents Ervin and Bertha (Heath) Martz. Richard retired after working 40 years as an engineer for General Motors. He was active for many years with the Tall Pines Council Boy Scouts, a lifetime member with the Genesee Valley Commandery No. 15 and the Masons of Michigan. Richard was a faithful member of Atherton United Methodist Church. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Martz; sons: Neil Martz, Scott Martz, and Todd (Bonnie) Martz; grandchildren: Kali Martz and Brian Martz; sister, Norma Goodes. He was preceded in death by both parents, and daughter, Linda Martz. Richard’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Genesys Regional Medical Center Neuro-Intensive Care Unit, Genesee Care Center, and Reverence Hospice for their continuous care and loving compassion. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
