Vern W. Osgood Jr. – Age 82, of Clayton Twp., went to be with his Lord, Friday, October 31, 2014 at McLaren – Flint. Mr. Osgood was born April 29, 1932 in Flint the son of the late Vern and Clara Belle Osgood. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from October 15, 1951 to October 12, 1955, and was a member of VFW Post 3720. Vern was active with the 4H Association, a certified Master Gardener and St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Mr. Osgood retired as a Supervisor from GM Fisher Body #1 December 1, 1977. On November 20, 1954 Vern married Judith Mincavage and she survives him. Also surviving are children, Regina (John) Arini, Deborah (Gregory) Clark, Vern Anthony (Pamela) Osgood, Joanne Paul; grandchildren, Janelle (Brian) Boosi, Brian Osgood, Gary Osgood, Jason Osgood, Kyle Clark, Lauren Arini, Mitchell Paul, Benedict Arini; great grandson, William Boosi. Mr. Osgood was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Paul, Marie and Tom. Friends may visit the family from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint, MI. Father Thomas Firestone will officiate. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
