ALLEN, Valerie E. - Age 91, of Fenton, passed away June 3, 2024. A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday, June 15, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Fenton, 860 N. Leroy St., Fenton. Pastor James Bell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to First Baptist Church of Fenton. Valerie was born December 22, 1932 in Gladwin, the daughter of Carl Edwin and Audrey Violet (Denmen) McColley. She married Thomas P. Allen on November 10, 1951. She and Thomas raised their family in Davisburg, then lived in Florida for many years before making Fenton their home in 1998. Valerie loved flowers. She enjoyed gardening and collecting beautiful figurines of blue glass. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fenton. While Valerie endured a lot in her life, she remained a strong, faithful follower of The Lord. She is best described as classy, sweet and her kindness was unmatched. She is survived by her grandchildren, Carrie Rheingans (Matthew Cunningham), Christine Keway, Kristie Sargent (Thomas) and Michael Allen; great-grandchildren, Mallorie, Allie, Anna, Isabell, Jordan and Autumn; dear friends, Bonnie Bates, Joanne Blimka and her entire church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; brother, Derry McColley; sister, Yvonne MacAulay; son, Michael Allen; daughter, Cynthia MacDonald.
