FATHEREE, Neal Edward - Of Grand Blanc, age 67, died Thursday, July 9, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30am Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, MI.
Father Carl Simon officiating.
Visitation 10am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Wounded Warrior Project, the Flint Institute of Music or Grand Blanc Choral Society.
Neal was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 6, 1952, the son of the late Forrest and Stella Fatheree. He worked for the Upjohn Company as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep for 25 years. He was a member of the Upjohn Academy for outstanding sales performance. He was also a member of the Flint Institute of Music and was a passionate opera singer, performing in many venues, including New York City. Neal was an avid golfer and was a member of the Davison Country Club. Neal was a former member of Holy Family Church in Grand Blanc where he served as cantor and reader. He was currently a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and he worked 10 years with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Neal was a long time Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions fan. He loved to read and a number one Star Wars Fan and expert.
Surviving are fiancée, Mary Jo Datz;
sister, Eve (David) Rodriguez;
nieces, Alexandra and Marisa;
step-daughters, Marty Gordon (Jason Friskey) and Leslie Stewart;
and step-grandchildren, Ashton, Emerson and Anderson Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shawn in 2016.
