YORKS, Carl Richard, Sr. – of Flint, MI, age 83, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Pete Scribner officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 and 12-1 PM Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home.
Carl was born in Elba Township, MI on June 21, 1934, son of the late John and Guyola (Gooding) Yorks. He married Joanne Carlson on January 14, 1955. Carl retired in 2008 from Operating Engineers Local 324 after working for C.J. Rogers Construction, Holloway Construction and Waterland Trucking Service, Inc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joanne; 5 children, Carl, Jr. (Tami) Yorks, Carlyn (James) Clark, Mike (April) Yorks, Patti Galvas and Charlie (Patti) Yorks; 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Jeffrey, Delynn, Caleb, Justin, Curtis, Andrea, Abby and Alex; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Yorks; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Bob, Jack, Lynn, Marlene, Ruthann and Helen.
