HECKEL, Robert David “Bob” – of Flint, age 63, passed away January 31, 2016 at home under hospice care. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 12:30-8PM Monday and 12-8PM Tuesday. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Bob was born in Flint, MI on January 20, 1953, son of Robert and Dorothy (Dugdale) Heckel. He married Catherine Autry 34 years ago in September. Bob enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles and remodeling his home. He was a huge Michigan fan and hard worker. Bob loved his family with his whole heart but adored his grandchildren the most. He was always helping his family in any possible way.
Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Vicky (Robert) Bearup, Tracy (Darwin) Brewer, Leah McLain, Brian (Serina) Imerzel; grandchildren, Tyler, Saige, Alexus, Christopher, Jaclyn, Brian Jr, TeLeah, Kayden; brother, Douglas Heckel; sisters, Sharon Straughmatt, Teresa Dodge, Lucille Orso, Carole McKee; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Saxton. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mike Farver for his compassion and caring of Bob and his family.
