ALVADO, James Robert – Of Grand Blanc, age 87, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at his residence.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Those desiring may make contributions to Michigan Special Olympics or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Memorial Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday, 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in North Tarrytown, New York on June 15, 1929, the son of the late James and Rose (Visconti) Alvado.
He married Antoinette Pisacreta in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1980.
He served in the U.S. Korean War.
He was a lifetime member of the Flint Elks Club and was an avid golfer.
Mr. Alvado was employed by GM for 32 years, retiring from Flint Truck & Bus in 1987.

Tom (Cindy) Alvado and Brandy (Brent) McDonald;
Loving companion, who brought happiness to his life, Ana Maria Melling;

Sarah Kennedy,
Cole Alvado,
Cameron Alvado,
Grant Alvado,
Valerie Alvado,
Olivia Kraus,
Brendan Kraus,
Tyler Alvado,
Shane Alvado,
Carter McDonald,
Bennett McDonald and
Ava McDonald;
Siblings, Joe (Louise) Alvado,
Pancho (Sue) Alvado,
Carol Ann (Rick) Hansen and
Gloria (Charlie) Eichenberg;
several nieces and nephews.
