Taylor, Deacon Robert Lee age-88 formerly of 709 E. Marengo Ave. passed away Thursday June 4, 2015 at Heritage Manor. A celebration of life will be held at 11am Saturday June 13, 2015 from The Spiritual of Israel Church & It’s Army 222 E. Edmund St. Eld. Ronald L.Williams officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10am for visitation. Deacon Taylor will repose in the Chapel of the Martin J. Banks Funeral Home and may be viewed from 8am to 8pm Friday evening.
Deacon Robert Lee Taylor was born June 21, 1927 in Columbus, Mississippi the third child of Jack Taylor and Maggie (Taylor) Durant. He had maintained a Flint resident for over 60yrs. volunteering as a special deputy for the Genesee Co. Sherriff’s Dept. for a number of years and was a member of The Spiritual of Israel and It’s Army Church serving on the deacon board.
He leaves to cherish his memory devoted great-niece Clarissa (Roy) White, devoted great-great nephew Jemein Jones. Four generations of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his favorite niece Bettie (Lamont) Brown and nephews Richard Brown and Alfred Taylor, Jr. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks for the many acts of kindness with special thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Heritage Manor.
