HARTMANN, Shirley Ann – Of Grand Blanc, age 78, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hartmann will be at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc from 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 until the time of the service at 1 p.m., The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Columbarium at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
Shirley was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 19, 1934, the daughter of Alonzo and Ethel (Maxfield) Wilson.
On August 16, 1958 she married Horst Hartmann.
The family was transferred to Michigan in 1972, and they lived in Grand Blanc since then.
Shirley worked as a laboratory technician in Medical Microbiology (at Marquette University in Milwaukee), school bus driver, pharmacy technician and X-ray technologist at several clinics, primarily Flushing Medical Center for 14 years.
She volunteered time at the Visually Impaired Center, Sarvis Adult Education, Beverly Manor Activities Department and St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Through this Church and E.F.F.E.C.T. of Grand Blanc, she and Horst led worship services at area nursing homes and senior residences.
Surviving are brother, Tom (Romelle) Wilson of Milwaukee, WI;
daughters, Janice Williford of Benbrook, TX,
Judy (Dave) Simon of Grand Blanc;
grandchildren, Stephen Williford, Ethan and Charlotte Simon;
nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends, especially from Marriage Encounter and Church.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Horst Hartmann, on March 5, 2013; her birth parents, Herbert and Norma Goldberg; her adoptive parents, Alonzo and Ethel Wilson; her brother, Norbert and son-in-law, Randal Williford.
