White, Rose G. – of New Lothrop, age 96, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, October 18, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Mike Perez officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2PM until 8PM, and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. An Eastern Star Memorial will be held at 4PM Thursday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Montrose Global Methodist Church or Order of the Eastern Star - Vienna Chapter #283.
Rose was born April 4, 1928, in Flint, Michigan, to the late George and Daisy (Hutson) Canteberry. She married Donald E. White on September 9, 1961, and they enjoyed many happy years together before his passing on September 4, 2007. Rose retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Montrose Global Methodist Church, and she recently celebrated 50 years of involvement with the Order of the Eastern Star - Vienna Chapter #283. Rose enjoyed trips to the casino, reading a good book, and traveling. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Karen (Don) Merrill-Lang, Randall (Pati) Pillen, Bonnie (George) Hirtman, and Beatrice Bonapfel; Grandsons: Nicholas and Lucas (Fiancée Alicia); Great grandchildren: Ella, Vincent, Leo, Vivian, and Franklin. Rose was also preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Canteberry.
